We head off for a 10 day vacation but we will have people covering for us if you come by.

Most of our prices were adjusted up by $2 this morning. If some of you failed to make the deadline, just send me an e-mail and I will adjust the prices back down for at least the next few days. OR just place an order and make a note down below that you would like the past prices. All orders from now on will not be processed until we get back.

I went out Saturday to sulfur before I take off and I got what I wanted: a morning of fog and calm. The only problem I see is that we may get a little rain when I am away. As long as it is not over a half an inch I should be fine.

We are back from our trip to Seattle to pick up Susie from U.W. She is now off for 8 weeks to Kenya for her last requirement to receive her degree. She will be helping many needy people in Nairobi. I am very proud of her.

Our prices have been raised for most of our wines for the first time in 10 years. I have good news for those of you in the states we have permits to ship wine legally. We have decided to remove the sales tax charged to you for all sales from now on. We will still pay the fees which in some cases are classified as other fees and not taxes but we felt it was unfair to those who live in the permit states.

I now will start preparing for bottling starting on July 6th.

2Pm: I just sent Susie an e-mail and got permission to put a link here to her Nairobi blog. She is 21 years old. As I said she will be there for 8 weeks so if you are interested to hear about her adventures here it is.....http://www.susieinnairobi.blogspot.com/

Last week we signed docs on a condo in San Francisco. It will be our first property purchased since we put all our money into a down payment on our property here at 7485 Dry Creek Rd. We will use it as a second residence when we visit The City. Pat enjoys visiting there and Kate will live there as her permanent residence. We all hope to enjoy our new investment for years to come.

I like to be challenged. I have spent three days preparing for our upcoming bottling of our 2008 vintage. Logistics are always complicated. Most of it is where am I going to store the 2008 wines which will be bottled in one week and where am I going to store the 2,700 cases of empty bottles to arrive later this week. The planing is getting easier every year so I am looking for a new challenge. Of course it is easier this year because I am only bottling 3000 cases total for the whole 2008 vintage. The last time I bottled so few cases for our label was in the 20th century. I love our wine in 2008. I am challenged because I want to make better wine this year.

We only have 500 cases left to sell of our 2008 wine. The only wine with 100 cases left to sell is our 2008 Zinfandel. All the others are either under 100 cases or sold out. Of course we still have plenty of 2006 wines to sell and an equal amount of 2007. In 2006 we made 7,000 cases and in 2007 we produced 5,000. In 2009 I hope to produce a little less than 4,000 cases.

Michael Jackson's death has affected me as I am sure all of us. He impressed me for several years. I remember Kate at age 3 dancing to "Bad" anytime we had friends around and I wanted to show off my system anyway. She was great! Back then in a small room the bass could be overpowering. So Michael's music was perfect for all of us at that time. Thank you Michael!!.......................
