We are concerned. Our Utility provider, PG&E is shutting down electricity in the foothills inland from were we are, near Sacramento. They say we may be out of power tomorrow, we will not be able to Harvest Block 4 so should I sue. I have never sued anyone but if I lose some great wine because PG&E wants to protect their equipment. It is real sad here but I still think it is about Global Warming
We harvested 4 tons today some for Grenache and some for Italiano. I will have more to Harvest unless our power is off................................

Our power has still not been shut down. It looks like if it is shut down today, it won't be until the evening so we are good with Harvest.
Today we brought in half a ton of Malbec and almost three tons of Merlot all to go into Aca Modot. Tomorrow we are ready to harvest the last of our Old Vine Zinfandel in our 4th Block South. Thursday and Friday we will harvest the fruit to go into Block 4 which is in the North section of our 4th Block.

Maybe tonight will be 12 hours light and 12 hours dark
It has been HOT, 107 today. Our power is still on but some places around here are out. We hope to start our Block 4 tomorrow and finish on Friday. Bryan my new SON is coming to help tomorrow........fun.........fun.........fun
As a teen in high school I needed to do a report about one of our past presidents, that was when I was in school way back in 1960. I found out an interesting time when our president was impeached. So I wrote a report on Andrew Johnson who was president in 1868. I thought interesting because it was right after the Civil War so what was the problem? I am interested to look back on the events........tomorrow
Only two presidents — Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton — have been impeached by the House of Representatives in U.S. history. Neither was removed from office. A third president, Richard Nixon, resigned amid an impeachment inquiry in 1974. He is the only president to have resigned.

Yesterday we started harvesting our Block 4. The sugar came in at about 27% so we are adding water to lower the potential alcohol to 15%. We will have to monitor the fermentations everyday. Today we will finish the Block 4.
Yesterday we also did some sugar tests and the newer Zinfandel is at 29% and the Cabernet is over 28%. We checked the Carignan and found 25.6% and the Petite Sirah at 25.7% So we will be very busy next week.
Saturday September 28, 2019
We received 7.8 tons of Block 4 fruit which is more than usual. With the 3 tons of Block One and since the sugars were high which requires us to add some water, we could produce over 800 cases of Block 4 this year. On Monday we will start picking our Cabernet and then we will start on the younger Zinfandel which will go in to our new Block 6 label.
