So the Raiders lost..............so I am depressed........what? maybe the first episode of Mozart In The Jungle will perk me up.

So my opinion of some Republicans and Democrats. not all BUT

I think some Republicans think mostly about how they can beat the system. I agree most Democrats think the same? I as a Democrat FEEL for the people who have not done as well as I. Is that wrong? Some Republicans do not want to pay for a person who is in need?......OK some?

OK, we have an event here tomorrow so it should be fun. Next week we blend............

Happy birthday Susie, my beautiful daughter.........

I went in to town on Monday to pick up some Ramey Chardonnay. I do not taste much Chardonnay but when I do I do like Ramey for the oak and acid, balance..............

We have so many different barrels. In the past as some of you who follow this diary I had mentioned tasting blind several different barrels and I found they are all great these days. I know some of the winemakers think they can tell the difference but I think I will only purchase from two barrel makers in the future.

Everything may change. I think some winemakers will come out with different additions to wine.............Barrels are being added to beer. Rum and Ginger go together. Will there be spices added to wine in the future?

Like I have said, winemaking comes easy for me, just like I know some of you do well in fields I can't do. We are blending now and it is interesting because it does require some thought, but mostly just organization.

Yesterday we were lucky, there was rain forecast but it did not come in. I hear rain has been delayed but will be here today and a lot on Thursday. So yesterday we put out in the parking lot with concern about rain ALL the barrels which will be blended for our 2016 wines. That way we could put them back in the building and today we are racking out of the barrels into tanks and back into barrels. 

Friday December 16, 2016 Still this diary: I try to remember..........

8:00 Pm: I like espresso so maybe I should go on that diet????, what could that be like. I know sometimes I have an espresso and I have no desire for more food. AND espresso has no calories!!  OK a different diet I did back in 1969.

I think it was called the drinking man's diet, it kept me down to 220 pounds for awhile back in 1969-1972. Art and I would talk about the next big New Issue, meaning the next big company going public. So we would leave our jobs at lunch for 45 minutes. We would go out to a neat restaurant back then where there were dill pickles for free. I would watch Art devour a whole large sandwich. I knew I was already up to 220 so............

I would order nothing. They would put dill pickles on the table while you wait. Seriously, A whole bowl of pickles is only 100 calories, so I would starve until I got home...............

When I got home I was in Fairfax at the time way up 120 stairs so by my self. I had Bordeaux half bottles some of the time. I would cook a sour dough bun. I had the starter and it only took a few minutes to add some flour and I had about 300 calories waiting for me.........of course I had to add some butter: 250 calories more. I consumed a whole bottle of wine, of course Bordeaux, remember I had several hundred bottles by then and by myself, I sat down at enjoyed...........

So at the end of some of those days I remember, I enjoyed the evening with The Stones and a nice day of food and wine of only 1050 calories. The whole bottle of wine was 500 calories at 12.5 alcohol, the pickles were about 100, the bread was about 300 and the butter was 250, I could do it again, I was never hungry that evening and I lost two pounds..........
