We are still hoping for labels later this week and we will be able to bottle our 2012 16 month wines. It will be fun to try them when bottled. We have had 6.5 inches of rain and may see more mid week. We need another 10 inches soon to be looking better. We have turned off the drip for now and won't turn the water on again until March, especially if we see no more rain.

My new display, bought 7 days ago fell over as i was trying to put different cables in it. I agree I was not careful, because after it fell over I noticed it had a very flimsy stand. I compared it to the stand on the display I was replacing and it was half the size. I have a replacement now from Amazon.

This next section will be stressful for someone who cares about the suffering of crabs.

I have been busy...........On Monday night I got a call from the label company and our labels were ready.......So I drove down to Petaluma, 45 miles away and went off to G&G market to pick up live crabs. No one but I would want to buy the last 5 crabs in a tank for "4 or 5 days" she said. Ok so I came home with crabs with problems. They even fought when I got home after I dumped them in my sink. One attacked the other and one dropped a limb. I won't go on........

I love crab and enjoy most of the insides, especially the creamy part. I brought home 5 crabs and gave two to Catarino. I asked him about the insides and he gave me a stressed face. "You eat their SHI..." I said, try the creamy part.......he was happy this morning as usual but even more so, he loved the creamy part.............

We are bottling and that is why I had a chance to talk to Catarino all day. We have fun all day questioning each other. Catarino eventually tells me everything he hears, but it can take a week or so. I won't what I heard because it is not important in the long run.

Today went OK for a first day of bottling.

Today went better than yesterday. Yesterday we tried to put on the red sticker that said the wine was barrel aged for 16 months. We had a lot of down time because the backing was ripping so we have stopped trying to put them on the bottle. We feel most of our customers know the green label denotes 10 months and the red label denotes 16 months. Next year we will inscribe 16 months on the label.

Yesterday we bottled 2012 Zinfandel, Escuro, Pinot and Grenache. I thought all four wines were showing tight with less fruit than compared to the 10 month versions. Today we bottled My Zin, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Lagrein, Barbera and Soft Zin. I then will have 20 wines open this evening since I will have the 10 month versions opened also. It will be fun.
