Trouble, the cats are in again. They are causing "Trouble" in my office again. "Trouble" was the first song I ever liked by Elvis. Everything after that was great. Sometimes we all need to have something to get us going again.......it can be from the past or mostly still for me in the present. I want to move one.............

Ken came through for me yesterday. He is a great friend!! No one can get a hold of Pliny the Elder, let alone Yooougure. So Ken works at a local store and he has scored me 6 bottles of Pliny the Elder. It could be the night after the Giants won yesterday, but this beer is great.

I have not slept well lately, I have many things in my mind and the most important is Bringing in my clone 6 Cabernet tomorrow. After several days over 100 degrees here, I am ready to harvest clone 6 tomorrow. We have had trouble getting sugar in this variety so it will be interesting tomorrow.............

Then on Tuesday my Mother of 92 is having a minor procedure, they call it, so we hope she does well..............

Pat and I hope to take off for Santa Cruz..........

The clone 6 Cabernet came in at 24.5 sugar today so we are happy. The several days of over 100 degrees helped us get the highest sugar for clone 6 ever. These vines are young and we are going to put more fertilizer and water on them next year. The berries are real small and so a lot of what we harvested today was stems. Where Zinfandel weighs over 1000 pounds in a normal bin, these grapes today weighed 2243 pounds in three full bins. We actually put about 200 pounds in my Dave's Cuvee fermenter so we may not get three barrels from the press with this Cabernet. If the quality is special we will bottle 50 cases.

I am trying to balance my checking account for the first time this year. That means I am behind by 9 months................I keep plenty of money in this Winery Checking account so I always write good checks.
