Here it is Monday and I am still working on my excel spreadsheet which will determine the combination of wine barrels in our 20+ wines. It may take me another day or so.
The meaning of ANTI-SEMITE is a person who has a hostile, prejudiced attitude toward Jews. I am completely against anyone who is prejudiced against Jews. Some of my best friends over the years have been Jews. I was even in a Jewish wedding with my best friend at the time. Two of my very best friends now are Jewish. That said I also am against anyone who indiscriminately is prejudiced against Palestinian people. Like I have said I am against the war. Of course the only possible solution is a two-state solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict which envisions an independent State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel but will that ever happen?

I have worked today on my spreadsheet to determine what barrels are going into which 20+ wines we are planning to bottle so it is complicated and it will take me another day or so to finalize the spreadsheet. If anyone interested, I can send you the spreadsheet...........

Now the state of California wants to audit me. Now they say they are the CDTFA so the sales tax division and they want to sit in my office for 2 days. I have nothing to hide! We use Shopify which is hard to figure sales tax, also because we have Clubs. So according to the State, we should not pay sales tax until the customer takes possession of the wine. That is hard to calculate with Shopify. So I will help them? I have already said too much, my life is an open book........I am preparing new spreadsheets to see if I was off in all the audit quarters they want back to 3rd quarter, 2020. I have been audited before and nothing was found so I look forward to them coming in here for 2 days on December 5 and 6.
I have contacted my accounts and asked questions. I could put all here what the State wants, but the first took me back!! Why do they have the right to see my Federal income tax statements back to 2020?? There is much more they ask, what are they looking for? Could they try to catch me for something else. Is this a witch hunt🤣........................

Tonight I am thinking about this witch hunt again. So why do they want to audit me. They say it is random? I don't think so! They see my reports, and I say I did about 700K in years and I know and they know by income tax reports, that I did more like 1 Mill. I made the reports to show the right amount for California and I do not have to pay tax to the State of California for shipments out of state. They, I guess, think I am hiding something by not documenting all the out of state shipments?
Good luck Trevor, that is his name. He wants a lot of stuff which I think is not legal, but we will see. I have sent him a lot of revised reports and it looks like the State of California will owe me some money back for recent reports, but maybe the way back ones they want to 2020 will show different.....It will be fun!!...I Love a challenge!! ............
The bottom line is If I owe some money, it would be not much from I can see so far!! But it is only money, our total expenses for the winery are Much More

So the state of California wants to look at every thing I do, so do they have the right? My accountants believe they do so how did that happen to me and not you if you have a company who sends sales tax reports to The State, any state you live in, be careful like I have........
I have tried my best to pay what I think is right to the State of California and I and my accountants are doing what Trevor wants........so Trevor, the guy who wants to come in here on December 5 and 6 and sit in my office and pull up Shopify which is most of information he needs and also QB which is used by my accountants......
So part of what Trevor wants is Use Taxes..........give me a break!!!! Way back when, I remember Amazon did not charge sales tax on what I bought, but then 2 or 3 years ago, everything I have purchased from amazon has included sales tax, sorry if I am losing some of you........the bottom line, Trevor is wasting his time on this one...........and I can tell you, I and my accountants are running up his clock, unfortunately, I know the State does not care?...........Gee he said if I get a refund he is just trying to get me to pay the right amount......I love a challenge........Pat is away for a few days..........tomorrow is another day.......

Back to Israel, Palestinian conflict............
I have mixed emotions, I hate any one who makes negative statements about either side. I know Israel has caused occupation but I hate what Elon Musk has encouraged!!!!!!! That said I still believe in my Tesla cars and will continue to hold my long term trades but I sold today all my short term trades, only made in the last 30 days, profit of $1700 short term.
I am working with the state and I see I have refunds coming, but we will see when Trevor comes in here for 2 days on December 5 and 6. I have confidence and enjoy the challenge!!
I am still working on the barrel contents for the new harvest and will have more later..........
I had covid back earlier this year, look back if interested. I still think I have some residual effects. I do not have any desire to eat lately and I am having trouble swallowing my pills, that said, when I have my great meal in the evening (Quail Paella tonight) in front of me and taste it, I eat some, when I come up later and try again...after a hit.......it only helps a little....... My doctors Are not concerned and if I lose some weight that would be a good thing.........sure I am the same weight when I got married, but at 221 and 6 foot one, that is still too much.............

I hope you ALL had a nice Thanksgiving, 5 of our Family members could not make it but Pat and I along with Susie the over achiever were here to have Turkey and much more over 2 days..........Instead of having 4 courses in tradition, we did it over 2 days, the first yesterday serving my mother's pasta gravy that is cooked with short ribs for 4 hours and today with a big complicated salad ahead of full Blown turkey dinner.....left overs tomorrow AND Desert soon........

Here it is Monday after a great few days of Turkey and all the trimmings. We are all back and ready to rack ALL our 2023 wines.......it will be fun!!
Some of you, Maybe, are interested in my problems in life, besides winemaking? How about hearing aids!!
If anyone here at the winery has noticed I wear hearing aids. It has been about 15 years now? I have spent a lot in the past as much as $6,000 every few years until recently. I have tried 3 online companies recently and one was horrible and the first one was great at first until I had some scratching noise on my left ear so I got a new one and it was great for a few months also but now this one has an issue with the charging base and I got a plastic dome in my ear...........so had to pick it out with a bobby pin. I will have more tomorrow, but I can say the last one is a Sony CRE-E10, great sound though.........

I am dealing with these hearing aids and the Sony is fine for now, only $1100 now so if you need some hearing aids this is the one to consider, sure there are more expensive ones which may be to your liking but I have tried many and the Sony is the best so far, as long as you can charge easily and not get them stuck in your ear🤔
We are getting ready for our open house for Club Members on this Saturday so I hope you can attend.
Also of course Jose and I are getting ready to blend our 2023 wines next week.....it will be fun...........

So to clear up, I do like my Sony CRE-E10, great sound. Other hearing aids of quality will cost you more, but you do need to find out if they are right for you.......check them out
We started today getting ready for bottling our 2022 16 month wines. We ordered the labels and it may take until the second week of January to get them, we will see........
We are scheduled to have some more solar and a new Powerwall here on December 18.............gee we will not be here..........
So we are off to Hawaii on December 14, and the Family will be there until the 22nd.
Oh That means we will not be here for Tesla so great!! That means we do not have to be here when the power is turned off during installation.........
