Everytime I go out in the vineyard I see more color and it looks like we will be harvesting Pinot Noir with in 2 weeks, for sure late for us.....Also We have a lot of white grapes and as some of you know we are known for our Red wines, including our Best Seller, Block 4......Next to be harvested soon, the best of our whites, thinned and then Pinot.........

Have I told you Lately?? Pat and I have new hardwood floors, got rid of the old carpet in bedrooms and refinished the kitchen floor! BUT that requires much change for a week and then a month for furniture to be put back in. SO
We had our upstairs bedroom redone with wood instead of carpet but the Sleep Number bed, AIR had to be moved into my movie room, photo tomorrow!! That meant I am in a side bedroom which has no Air conditioning!!!!!!!!!
I am surviving in the movie room, OK, just the bottom part of my 9 foot wide screen is not in view!!! OH

Yes we have not been in our kitchen for a few days.....sorry it has been tough, but we did go out to two restaurants more tomorrow...........

There are 2 nice more casual restaurants over the hill in Geyserville 2.5 miles a way so easy to drive even when I have some wine.
So Wednesday we drove over to Diavola and tried their Pizza and pasta. The pasta was great, but as usual the pizza was not what I am used to at home, it was more like cracked and not chewy at all, but nice sauce and cheese combo with meat balls, of course very little on the crust.
Last night we went to the Geyserville Grill and I had a burger and garlic fries and Pat had a salmon salad, both very nice.
Both these restaurants are different from what you can now get from Healdsburg and even 2 in Geyserville which only offer high priced fancy presented food.

Too many things to relate, especially since we are close to Harvest, finally....yes we are still 3 weeks behind, but we are catching up!
We will do many sugar tests Friday the First of September. We are usually harvesting this time of year.....more tomorrow

So again too much to relate, am I getting old, yes, but hopefully I can be timely on this diary to give updates and possibly the duality???
I have seen in the local paper, some experts are saying it will be a great year?? How do they know, I hope it isn't Hang Time again because we are 2 to 3 weeks late? I think Hang Time making a difference in quality is questionable.......
OK so we did do sugar tests today and it looks like some of the Pinot will be ready next week and maybe some of the white I will be fermenting in new French Barrels......so much fun!!
