Sunday July 29, 2018 This guy is passionate and crazy in making his case. I will buy more stock if TSLA is down in the next few days. AUGUST 22............WE must have the walls done and the ceiling in before we can bottle or harvest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........tomorrow is another day Monday July 30, 2018 Jose is here now organizing the winemaking. We do not have titles here but he is definitively stepping up to do all necessary things to make great wine........ Today we disgorged many bottles of our new sparkling 2017. I love our sparkling because it has no sugar left so very austere. Yes I bought more TSLA. I still have a profit on these holdings and made enough over the years to buy my Tesla model S. I will buy more if the stock goes down more so if the company goes bankrupt as all these shorts think, I will still be ahead because i have the greatest car I have ever driven........I know I digress The contractor says they will have all the tapping done and all the ceiling in before we bottle on August 22........................................tomorrow is another day Thursday August 2, 2018 OK I have many things to think about, like the first NFL game in the season.......... tape man comes in again tomorrow, nice guy,. he likes red wine so a bottle of my wine he took but I have to see what he is doing since we are paying a lot of money to have this company to do a great job. I think it will work out but i need to supervision a little..................... Of course it was nice to see TSLA went up today so I sold some stock to get ready to pay for all these changes............. I ordered the glass for bottling so it will be here on August 21 and we will be done bottling by the end of the month. I like to be organized so I am not completely happy with a few things around my life............... My Mothers estate is being controlled by some Lawyers no where near me so they are slow. I do not want to go into this, but it is annoying.............. Tomorrow is another day Thursday August 9, 2018 OK, some of you know Tesla has been in the news. As I have said before I love my Model S so I have purchased 5 Tesla vehicles in the past, so I know one fact, Tesla makes the greatest cars ever..........but Like I have said before, I see Tesla like Amazon, they did not make money for more years than Tesla and as you know it has still ricocheted. I invested in Amazon because I started buying products from them and did not have to drive my great Model S, Hey hard decision, but I am old now at 75 so I started liking Amazon. The UPS drivers then and Now are great, I think they like being out in the country when we have a property several hundred yards a way. So I invested in AMZN way back when........and I believe more in Tesla because I drive their product, but OK Amazon is starting to make great products also and they have Kindle. I could go on but TSLA to me could be????? Elon is controversially not as much as Trump but he can get in trouble like Trump so I just like my Model S and I believe in the company so I have made many trades and accumulated nice profits, SO should I also buy a Model 3...........I am tempted to turn in my Model S, the future is Model 3 and Model Y..............long story........... This remodel in the winery is way NOT organized but I am old and I can be patient. We know have to bottle after August 21 for the first time since I won the gold medal..............OK, long story so fast track. My first Gold medal and only for a red wine was in 1995, for our 1994 Estate Cuvee.............look it up in the diary...............the facts are thus............. That wine, 1994 Estate Cuvee was bottled 6 weeks ONLY before wining the award.......so August something. I am not concerned we will be bottling at the end of August, more bottle age, it will be fine. So in 1994: Let me think? But maybe I can pull up my diary back then................We started in 1998 with the diary I am trying to understand, sorry. I think when I go away I may be missing something, but I like vacations for even a day or two will help me to escape.................... I know the past and I like to look back but as I have said there is only the Future............. We are heading down South for a few days to bond with Family. Pat's Aunt has passed away after a long illness but even though we were ready, there is never a good time to celebrate a death, only my opinion after my first funeral when my Father died, I was 10.5 years old. November and May thus is always on my mind. I was born in the first week of May and My Father died in November. I know most of you would not relate but that meant i was 10.5 instead of 10 years old as I have always presented it before. I am sorry this is hard............I hate Funerals but I will be down there South to celebrate a life............... As I think I have said before: We transport what we present to everyone, what we are while we are alive. Pat's aunt, lovingly called Pal will live in us forever..................... Friday August 17, 2018 Yes, I finally got back from our 1000 mile trip to Orange County. Of course with my Tesla I paid nothing for electricity. We saw a lot of Model 3 Tesla cars all over including our destination Hotel in Pismo Beach. Tesla has paid for these hotels like wineries thus me to have a charger on our property. It is getting harder for me to go 1000 miles but I did have fun on Highway 5.................... as some of you know I trade TSLA and I have been successful every time.....buy low sell high. So TSLA, Tesla stock has been in the news so I buy when it gets low and sell when it goes up So today Tsla went down 30 points and of course I bought.................. The construction people have stepped UP!! I was away for 5 days, nice escape to just have nice food and talk to friends.......Now I am back so all the painting is done, so yes all the Sheetrock and taping was in before the painting. Wow it looks nice, and even yesterday and today the ceiling tiles went in. Now Next week we will be cleaning up and preparing to Bottle................... Harvest is next weeK!! YES we may harvest before bottling Monday August 20, 2018 At 8pm tonight I am tasting a zinfandel berry which has got to be 30% sugar. Catarino brought the bunch in today and said, in that section only had a few bunches this ripe,.............but of course that means in the next few weeks we will be harvesting Zinfandel AS USUAL........... We did tests today and found out the sugar for our white grapes is ready SO we will be starting our 2018 Harvest tomorrow at 6am. It is another year............I am so excited...............more tomorrow......... bottling is Thursday or Friday..........we have problems setting up..........these nice Construction people have made mistakes so we need companies to come in and correct the Nitrogen Generator and large Air Compressor..............long story..........not interesting only to me because we need them both before we can bottle Tuesday August 21, 2018 Below you see a picture of all the crew who helped harvest our white grapes for our new Luminaire for 2018.  It has been an interesting day. We harvested our first grapes and of course Tesla went up so I am selling my trade again. BUT I now see the extended market trades are down big so is it because of Trump getting in trouble? We are setting up our bottling line tomorrow and we should be ready to bottle Friday............... I love Harvest! It is in my Blood......... Wednesday August 22, 2018 We figured out what was wrong with the nitrogen generator and air compressor. They are hooked up now but we have not fired them up yet. We won't be harvesting again until Pinot, Sep 4 after we finish bottling. Yeast will be added to Luminaire today. The alcohol may be a little lower than last year. There are a lot of things to prepare before we can bottle: 1) Where do we store the empty bottles which will come tomorrow. It looks like the temperatures will stay below 90 degrees for the next 10 days so we should be able to store the glass out side. 2) Where do we store the empty barrels. I have said before we have a canopy which does well to keep the barrels in the shade and we have been turning on sprinklers to keep them rehydrated. We took some out so we can use the staves for the ceiling in our new tasting room. We had to take the barrels apart and we were amazed at how tight they were from all the water which has been sprinkled on them for the last two months SO we now know we can store more empty barrels, even new ones in this canopy. 3) Where do we store all the new wine to be bottled. Now that the winery is empty, most of the stacked wine will be stored there. The wine used to pack and hand out to customers will be stored flat over in one of the buildings used for empty barrels before. There is still plenty to do before we bottle on Friday.........fun........fun.........fun Update: We are so happy the nitrogen generator and the large air compressor have been started and they are working fine............ 8:00 Pm: Harvest is in my blood because I can control most things.........sure there could be a storm and make a mess, rotten grapes, hey I have been here now for 40 years now, now, now..........I am trying now Alpha Centauri, great IPA I love what I have the privilege to do what I want. So for now the 40th year I do not know what will happen, everyday could bring fire, hot temperatures and even low temps which can bring in rotten grapes. I have seen everything, NOT, YET every year is different and I love the challenge.................... Thursday August 23, 2018 Wow it has been a complicated day, too much for me to relate so I am trying Alpha Centauri, great IPA again. I tasted 4 ounces last night so I have 4 more for tonight an 4 more the next night. I know it is all about the carbonation so why would I taste this beer again since it has lost most of its carbonation. Gee, I like our Sparkling wine because it has carbonation but I am more into the hops in beer. So We thought we were ready to bottle tomorrow but many things needed to be fixed. First Jose said there was a problem with two things on the bottling line. It took an hour but Jose figured it out. Then we had no power. We need to get back the construction people to fix it BUT it did not stop us........... Then the biggest problem was our labeler. The label is the last thing to go on the bottle so it is critical to show what we have projected out to all our customers So We called our great people who services our bottling line. They are also who I have sent them about $300,000 over the years. I know I am small because most wineries are larger than I...........but they took care of me Victor showed up at 2:30pm and left just before 5pm. I asked him if he wanted a job? We were so impressed. He was the best I have seen out here. There were so many problems, sure minor at times, but he had a passion to do what we wanted.............long story, but without Victor, no bottling. We are now ready for bottling tomorrow, another day Friday August 24, 2018 I know i should just concentrate on today, but I have been doing again without thinking things my daughters and wife would not do. It is not life threatening................I pick things off the floor constantly and put them in my mouth. Sure we have heard about 20-30 second rule and put it in our dish again but I usually consume it!! Long ago I tried to read about germs and I heard a few people were so concerned about dirt, germs, that they would stay in their house and not come out. So I believe like some I have heard..........it is better to be exposed to some germs. Hey sure to night a piece of cheese fell on the ground while I was cooking and I picked it off the floor and ate it. I digress..... but not long.............I love to escape so tonight it is a few ounces, probably only 60 calories of Hop Valley Alphadelic. Purchased it at Costco....... Say, I don't know all, but I have said before, I love Round Up. I used it for th first time in 1979 when I became a farmer here. I loved it because it could kill even poison Oak and some black berries which were taking over our place. That year in 1979 some of us were concerned about a synthetic chemical. I even heard one sales person drank Round Up and survived. Some of you now know Round Up may be outlawed because people have claimed they inhaled it or got it on their body and they have cancer. Again, they may be right, but I know for many years I used Roundup in my vineyard. I would walk down narrow rows and sprayed all over the weeds. I would come in after and take off my clothes and I had it all over my body. Maybe I am lucky? Maybe Roundup does not cause cancer? I do not have cancer from Roundup because i have not used Round up for 25 years. Why did I not die? Sorry, back to the day. WOW, the first day of bottling is always an adventurer. Today was normal, things went well until the afternoon when we put our 2017 My Zin in the tank. At around 2pm we were ready to bottle our second wine. We had no problems bottling our 2017 10 month Estate Cuvee. When we tried to open the valve and bring 2017 My Zin to our filler the valve would not turn..............the wine remained in the tank.................... Jose had the best idea, put a hose in the top of the tank and pump it out into the tank next to it, smaller, but just barely enough to hold all the wine........It worked but it took an hour, a lot of buckets at the end................we are all tired tonight but we have to do a little prep tomorrow for Monday.............Dave's Cuvee. OK, I tried the 2016 10 month wines against the 2017 and I thought the 2017 wines were smoother. I will be tasting all the wines we bottle................ 9:00 Pm: Now I see something about Tesla. As some of you know I love my Tesla Model S but also I trade TSLA the stock. Again I bought and sold some stock this week and made a nice profit. I still would like to own more stock but Tesla has to be profitable, at least as much as Amazon which some of you know still does not make a lot of money.
