I am thinking about my next vacation. I love what I am doing now, but it will be a nice escape for a few days. Pat, Kate and I have a place to stay down South of Santa Cruz, so we will try a new place.

Bottling is now as usual an adventure but also different challenges.

So on Monday I hear my Steamer is down. So today they brought the wrong steamer...........it was a communication mistake by the company and me. Now we decided we may not need a steamer machine. We use as some of you know precautions in bottling so maybe steam is not necessary? The tech today was very tech, sometimes he did not answer a question, so he said nothing which would make me think, this company will come through? They think they can get a new one here in a day or two, and they took my old one to repair...........which I want as a back up.........So I have not heard back from Steve who made the arrangement. I sent him a nice email about a mix up. Tomorrow is another day..............

The bottling is going well except we still do not have a steamer. We need one in a month or so when we start filling barrels with new wine from the harvest. By steaming a used barrel we make sure it is tight and will not leak when filled.

I have tasted all the wines we have bottled and overall I prefer the 2016 over the 2015. The 2016 wines seem to be smoother so it could just be they were just bottled and not showing as much complexity. It is hard for me to explain. Every person has different palates and as I have said before I know what I like but it could be different than most of you.

Kate and Bryan came back Sunday and I handed them the open Block 4 wines I opened on Thursday. They tasted them Tuesday and Kate preferred the 2016 and Bryan slightly preferred the 2015. All three, 2014, 2015 and 2016 wines taste very similar and again each one of you could prefer a different wine. So the bottom line is the 2016 wines have a lot of potential. Today is our last day of bottling and we will bottle the 10 month aged 2016 Aca Modot and RaiZin. In the kitchen now, I have 17 wines open, 4 more tonight which includes the 2015 Aca Modot and RaiZin. It will be fun.........

8:00 Pm: some of you may remember my ice machine problem. look it up if interested.

I will only say I did not like my ice maker in the refrigerator over 5 years ago. Since then I have had this Whirlpool, highly recommended by Consumer Reports. I agree it was great at the beginning but then fell apart. The ice maker was OK, but I had to put screws in the drawers after a year.........they were falling apart and even broke.......So finally I had to compromise with Pat and get a white Frig. All the good options were Stainless, but my wife is still in the last Century so I had to agree with a Frig I said OK. It was here yesterday and I see it is some what smaller than my last one, a Whirlpool,  as I said I was not happy with.........So

Now I have a GE again until the last 5+ years I only had GE!!! I always had  GE and I was very happy. So in the last 5+ years I tried three other manufactures, they were not good!! Go back and see my rant about the ice maker. The latest was a Whirlpool, the best rated on Consumer reports 5 years ago. I liked it better after the last ice maker but the shelves and catches on the outside of drawer fell apart. I had to put at least 16 screws in the drawers to hold them together. Now I have a GE again so who knows.................

OK where is my new Model S??? Pat and I are heading down to Aptos, below Santa Cruz. It will be fun to escape, but where is my S? I have not much communication with this nice guy Nick. He has responded to my emails twice after now my 6 or more............21 days. I ordered a new S on June 23 and I still do not have it. Should I sell my stock?
