Sunday June 12, 2016............52 years now since I bought my first Corvette............$4950. 97 out the door, a fun.......car......I got 25 miles to the gallon which was high then.............

8:30 Pm:
We were away to Santa Cruz or lobster at Ideal cafe but the best dinner was at Stagnaro...........if you go to Santa Cruz check out Ideal Cafe and Stagnaro........

Pat is away for Giants games as usual around this time of year. So I am home alone but since I am the cooker around here I will have fun trying new things.

Josh and Jose are back tomorrow so we talk more about bottling in 4 weeks starting on July 5..............so we will talk tomorrow to be organized.....it will be easy.........

I hear now there was a shooting, like some of you..............I sometimes do not turn on the TV especially when I drove down to drop Pat off, I still did not hear anything even though we had 100 people here today, maybe............I finally went out at 3:30 to help and had a great time talking to customers and retrieving wines they suggested, like 2013 Aca and 2014 Zp2c. I had a nice time but until just a few hours ago I did not hear there were 53 people killed...........won't it be so interesting to see What Trump and Hillary say

Politics goes on so I won't comment today...............Pat is still in The City so I have time to write a diary. I also have been figuring out my new Kindle, it is the newest one and Amazon says it will last 6 weeks...........so as a big owner of Amazon stock I had to call them. It is not easy to find their number, but just keep hitting help and you can find a neat place: They will call you, just give them your number. I know some of you would not give out your number to Amazon or anyone, but I keep asking, what are you afraid of, I know I am in the minority........I am not afraid of someone taking over my identity and I have nothing to hide..........You also have the option to call Amazon so your identity would be safe. I choose to have them call me..........

So this new Kindle has a case that helps keep it charged. But I was also interested in this new ? great Kindle because it was advertised as the lightest Kindle. I love reading novels and I am amazed how all of these writers can do a great of job communicating with us for hours...............Well this new Oasis Kindle is not what I thought it would be. If I read for 3 hours without the cover, it ran out of power and had to be charged..........So I asked Amazon what is going on? Do I have a defected Kindle? After several frustrating minutes with a nice lady, I asked for a supervisor. I was amazed when I was connected within a few minutes to another nice person. He stayed on the phone with me for over 30 minutes and went into great detail about this new Kindle. I found out it would last up to 6 weeks if: (1) the cover is attached (Making it heavier than other Kindles), (2) reading no more than 30 minutes a day, (3) light setting at 10 (Pretty dim, no there is not auto setting for light) and (4) WiFi off. I now read with the cover, but for $300 compared to other Kindles at as low as $80, it is a disappointment. BTW, other kindles will last 3 weeks at the same settings............

I have tried to write about Ali 3 times before and stopped, but I guess I have to do it now. As anyone who has been to our winery you have noticed I have a lot of signed things by Ali and also one signed by all the Beatles and Cassius Clay.

So I went up to see my sister two weeks ago. Then I heard about Ali when I got back. I also saw Richard who is married to my sister Lynda. I mentioned Richard back in September, 2014 briefly because Lynda and Richard and I have not been on the best of terms in the last 15 years,  but we had a great time up at their new house at lake Almador........so it made me think..............Richard and I saw all Ali's fights. We would see them on TV or a theater in the East Bay. Rich was my best man at Pat and my wedding in 1973 and I was his best man when he married Lynda in 1962. Rich and I were amazed at how well Ali did over his career and we were sad when we saw his last fight at a closed circuit theater in Marin County in 1980 when he lost to Larry Holmes. Richard just turned 74 and I am 73. Ali, at 74 in January has still lived longer than us...........

I am so anxious to bottle the 2015 10 month wines starting on July 5, it will be fun............
