Sunday November 11, 2012

My back has gotten no better so as I said last week I have delayed my surgery on my right knee. I may see a chiropractor tomorrow. I should at least get an ex ray.

I am hoping to take off on a short vacation and when I get back I should have all the info from Matt to start cutting and pasting, in an excel spreadsheet, the possibilities for all our 2012 wines just completing fermentation. It is always fun to create. First Matt will supply me with a list of all the wines in barrel. The spreadsheet will show alcohols, acids and the actual varietal percentages. For instance, Estate Cuvee has Zinfandel, Cabernet, Carignan and Petite Sirah in amounts that have been consistent since first conceived back in 1994. Also "My Zin" has about 75% Zinfandel in the blend and the rest is Cabernet and Petite Sirah. Obviously there are many possibilities including different barrel types and barrel ages. It is fun to take (cut) a barrel and paste it in a new spreadsheet that will have all the wines, more than 20.

I sold about one third of my stock about three weeks ago after Google reported disappointing earnings. I wish I had sold a few days earlier, but I did make some good profits on Amazon, Google and Apple. Since then those stocks have gone down a great deal. I bought back a little AAPL Friday and may purchase more tomorrow. Remember the Market does well when a Democrat is president.

8:30 Pm:

I don't usually like trivia but tonight it may be OK. My definition of trivia needs some thought after what i have copied from the source below this entry.......

A few of you may remember my thing about no shoes at night when I go out to access an espresso. Tonight it is getting cold enough so I wore no shoes. It is 38 degrees so I guess it its time.....

Maybe important....my back is feeling better............I hope.........

Soon, I am heading up in my SMALL bight metallic RED Ford Fiesta to see Susie in Seattle by way of the Oregon Coast. It will be fun. a vacation?

Tomorrow will be no trivia, unless you consider purchasing stocks as not important.......what is trivia.........

The trivia (singular trivium) are the three lower Artes Liberales, i.e. grammar, logic and rhetoric. These were the topics of basic education, foundational to the quadrivia of higher education, and hence the material of basic education and an important building block for all undergraduates. The word trivia was also used to describe a place where three roads met in Ancient Rome.

The term had become, during the 20th Century, as forgotten as the system of education it pertained to when it was ironically (or strategically?) appropriated to mean something very new. In the 1960s, nostalgic college students and others began to informally trade questions and answers about the popular culture of their youth. The first known documented labeling of this casual parlor game as "Trivia" was in a Columbia Daily Spectator column published on February 5, 1965.[citation needed] The authors, Ed Goodgold and Dan Carlinsky, then started the first organized trivia contests, described below. Since the 1960s, the plural trivia in particular has widened to include knowledge that is nice to have but not essential, specifically detailed knowledge on topics of popular culture. The expression has also come to suggest information of the kind useful almost exclusively for answering quiz questions, hence the brand name Trivial Pursuit (1982).
